Civic Engagement/ Social Responsibility

My way of interacting with the community is by upcycling fashion to reduce the use of fabric waste. I love to travel to my local Goodwill Stores and grab as many materials as possible. This is charged by the pound. With the materials,trends I create new clothing items with trend. This is my way of expressing the bigger picture of civic engagement and social responsibility in the field of fashion.

For this project I gathered 3 different pairs of thrifted Jeans and created a Pleated Denim Mini Skirt with the only added materials including a zipper.

2 Piece Set & Crop Denim Jacket

For this project I was able to use a thrifted dress and create a customized 2 piece set with added white faux fur. To create the Jacket, I used a pair of thrifted jeans that I cut and painted with a signature lightning bolt design.
